How often do you race?
As often as I can.
Other than our track, what are your favorite BMX tracks? Why?
Dirt n the House in Waterloo is the only other track I’ve raced, and it was a blast.
How did you become interested in racing BMX bikes?
My whole family has raced on some sort of dirt track and I just wanted to get started in something.
What about the sport has kept you interested and made you want to continue to race BMX bikes?
How everyone is nice and you are friends with everyone there.
What parts of racing comes naturally to you? What do you feel you need to work on?
Going fast comes natural because I have a lot of leg strength. I feel I need to work
on jumping the jumps more.
What other sports or activities do you participate in? Do these sports or activities help you with your racing? How?
I play football and that helps with a lot of fitness and strength.
What are your accomplishments so far in BMX racing?
I won first place for leap points in DSM for rookies. I also finished first in state for
thirteen year old rookie. Now I am moving up to novice this year.
What are your short-term and long-term goals in BMX?
My short term goals are to be able to start jumping all of the jumps this year.
My long term goals are to win state for 13-14 year old novice.
What do your friends and kids at school think about your racing BMX bikes?
Some kids think it is pretty cool and some just say it is for wimps. But they don’t
have the guts to race.
Who are people you look up to and why?
My dad and uncle. My dad, because he is always keeping my bike ready to go and
is always there to help me. My uncle, because he is an awesome racer in the
modified series and that is what I want to do one day.
