How long have you been racing?
About 6 years.
How often do you race?
Every Sunday and Thursday during the spring, summer, and fall. and as much as possible in the winter.
Other than our track, what are your favorite BMX tracks? Why?
G. Mason Burdette BMX in Evansville, Indiana, because it's the fastest track in the country. Derby City BMX in E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville,
Kentucky, is also a favorite because it the second straight is the gnarliest.
How did you become interested in racing BMX bikes?
I saw an ad in a newspaper, and my dad raced dirt bikes, so he always talked about that kind of stuff.
What about the sport has kept you interested and made you want to continue to race BMX bikes?
I just love to ride my bike. It's a great way to express yourself.
What parts of racing come naturally to you? What do you feel you need to work on?
I'd say the first straight has come naturally. I need to work on manualing and jumping.
What other sports or activities do you participate in? Do these sports or activities help you with your racing? How?
Cross-country and track. They definitely help because they build leg strength and I don't get tired during my races anymore.
What are your accomplishments so far in BMX racing?
I made it to the 2007 UCI Worlds in Victoria, British Columbia, July 2007.
What are your short-term and long-term goals in BMX?
Short term is get top 10 in the nation in class this year and top 5 in cruiser. Long term is to move up to junior men and eventually race elite men.
What do your friends and kids at school think about your racing BMX bikes?
Most of them don't understand it (BMX racing). The ones that do think I'm crazy. Haha!!
Who are people you look up to and why?
Everyone that I ride with. They are a rad group of guys; Alex, AJ and anyone at the track.
