Other than our track, what are your favorite BMX tracks? Why?
I haven’t yet raced any other tracks.
How did you become interested in racing BMX bikes?
I live very near the Des Moines track and a friend’s brother used to race.
What about the sport has kept you interested and made you want to continue to race BMX bikes?
I like the adrenaline rush and the physical challenge, along with the camaraderie and friendship.
What parts of racing comes naturally to you? What do you feel you need to work on?
Since I am an athlete, I am used to the competition. I need to continue to work on pushing it all the way.
What other sports or activities do you participate in? Do these sports or activities help you with your racing? How?
I play soccer and basketball. They keep me in shape and have taught me to be competitive.
What are your accomplishments so far in BMX racing?
I got 2nd place in a state qualifier event and I feel like I am getting better each race.
What are your short-term and long-term goals in BMX?
I hope to win state in my class and eventually move up to novice.
What do your friends and kids at school think about your racing BMX bikes?
They think it is pretty cool, especially since two of my school mates are boys that either currently race with me or used to race.
Who are people you look up to and why?
In BMX, I admire Sam White and Alex Peterson. They are really great racers and I have learned a lot from them. They are really good role models for new racers.
