Des Moines Metro BMX track is run and maintained by volunteers. We do it for the love of the sport and the love of our children. We can always use more volunteers. The following is a list of volunteers we need every race day.

Corner Marshals:  These volunteers notify the starter, by means of a flag, if a racer has wrecked on the track. They also help any racers that have wrecked and report any unsportsmanlike racing.

Scorers:  These volunteers simply write down the number from the number plates of the racers in the order as they cross the finish line.

Starters:  These volunteers start the gate sequence and watch for any gate jumping from the racers. They also do a visual check with the corner marshals to ensure there are no downed races.

Stagers:  These volunteers assist racers with their proper lane assignments on the gate.

Announcers:  These volunteers announce the race events and any special messages during the race.
